so that’s why I want to Starting in Chengdu, this project reinterprets  overlooked elements of local intangible culture to build a fashion identity rooted in Chinese heritage.

Emphasizing Chengdu’s inclusive spirit, “slow rebellion” attitude, and distinct aesthetics, it translates cultural symbols through garment outlines, pattern, fabric, and color.

This part used interview and article research to find some phenomena. First of all, Current State of Chengdu’s fashion culture A reliance on imported cultural elements as the basis for secondary creation.

Secondly, From a designer’s perspective, there incorporate Chengdu’s cultural symbols —such as gaiwan tea bowls in accessories like hairpins—into fashion design. But from the public’s point of view, such efforts are overlooked.

That‘s why is this important, China is culturally rich, it currently lacks a fashion brand that globally symbolizes its cultural spirit. In contrast to Japan’s Issey Miyake, whose design language evokes national aesthetics, Chinese fashion remains fragmented, with limited global recognition.
My aim to develop a modern yet culturally rooted Chinese visual language in fashion — one that is instantly recognizable and conceptually strong.
